Farai Maguwu, a well-known Zimbabwean human rights defender, discusses what is wrong about mining in Zimbabwe and how it can be improved.
Maguwu is the director of Zimbabwe’s Center for Natural Resource Governance. In 2011, he received Human Rights Watch’s Alison Des Forges Award for Extraordinary Activism. Maguwu is a member of the African Civil Society Circle, an African network of think tanks and civil society organizations dedicated to promoting good governance across Africa.
