In this quickedit video I‘m adding sunset colours to a landscape photo which was shot during the blue hour. For the #editing I will be using #Adobe #Photoshop CC 2020 with the Nik Collection Plug in.

Since the original raw photo was lacking colours my goal for the photo was to add vibrant, warm, sunset-like colour tones, mostly on the right side of the shot. Besides making the image much warmer and vibrant I also wanted to apply a soft, dreamy style on it.
1. Basic Adjustments
I started by activating the lens correction and for this photo the remove lens distortion setting does have a very visible impact since the handrail near the upper edge gets straightened due to this setting. As I wanted to have a vibrant image, I switched the camera profile to Adobe Landscape which boosts the base saturation nicely. For the white balance I decided to increase the temperature giving everything warmer colours. Then, I dropped the exposure and increased the shadows to still have details in the darkest spots. To have a nice amount of sharpness and structure I added some texture and clarity.
2. Local Adjustments
I used a graduated filter to darken the sky by dropping the exposure. Then, I added a radial filter on the right side above the horizon and increased the blacks inside it to add a subtle glow to the area. Also, I increased the temperature to make this area look more like it was shot during the actual sunset.
3. Colour grading
In the HSL tab I boosted the blue, orange and yellow saturation, then continued with the split toning by applying a warm tone to the highlights and a cold one to the shadows.
4. Final Editing in Photoshop
I removed sensor spots using the spot healing brush first. Then, I enhanced the glow on the right side by creating a new layer (blending mode set to hard light) and used a warm brush to carefully paint in glow. Finally, I used the Nik Collection plug in to make the overall colour warmer (brilliance / warmth filter) and add this dreamy, soft look (classical soft focus filter)
