Temperatures have reached nearly 50 degrees Celsius (122 degrees Fahrenheit) in some areas.
Mexico's health ministry has recorded more than 100 heat-related deaths this year. Nearly all the deaths were attributed to heatstroke, with a handful from dehydration.
A lingering heat wave is to blame and shows no signs of slowing down.
