Against a backdrop of austerity and funding cuts in recent years, Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service has raised its game receiving many accolades in the process. It is now England’s lowest-cost fire authority to local taxpayers and one of the best performing. Strong leadership and acute financial planning has served Buckinghamshire FRS extremely well and their controls continue to improve year on year, helping them to deliver the very best value and quality service.
All of this whilst also having to evolve their services to meet the growing needs of the populations which they serve. This includes dealing with flooding and other weather-related incidents, planning, preparation and response and with the ever-growing threats posed by terrorism providing a comprehensive USAR capability.
