In four years, the European research project REFRESH contributed significantly towards SDG 12.3 of halving per capita food waste at the retail and consumer level by 2030 and reducing food losses along production and supply chains. This video summarises the project's main activities and findings within the three focus areas of consumer behavior, a voluntary agreement approach for business engagement and the valorisation of unavoidable food waste.
The EU research project "Resource Efficient Food and dRink for the Entire Supply cHain" (REFRESH) ran from 2015-2019. Together with 26 partners from across Europe and China from research, politics, industry and retail, Refresh has made considerable progress in tackling the issue in a holistic and integrated way and transforming the system into a more sustainable and responsible food system.
