9:40 Prompt #1: 5 minutes
What’s your main character’s favorite color, and why? What does it remind them of? What’s their exact favorite shade of it? What do they think the color tastes/smells/sounds/feels like? You can answer this for as many characters as you want. (Or, if you’re feeling stuck, answer it for yourself!)
24:00 Prompt #2: 10 minutes
What is your character's lucky charm? Describe it! Also, how did they get it? Tell us everything! (Or feel free to write about a lucky charm you own.)
46:36 Prompt #3: 10 minutes
Your character gets a piece of unbelievably good luck. What is it? Are they happy or suspicious, or are they so used to being lucky that they don’t even notice? (If you’re feeling stuck, write about a time YOU got a piece of good luck!)
Sending love and standing in solidarity with our AAPI Wrimos today, and all people of Asian descent grappling with the aftermath of last night’s hate crime in Georgia and ongoing anti-Asian violence.
For white Wrimos seeking to better understand anti-Asian racism so as to be better allies, this piece is incredibly thoughtful and nuanced. We’ll also thread some ways you can offer direct support. [ Ссылка ]
If you’re able to make a donation the Atlanta chapter of the National Asian Pacific American Women’s Forum is doing direct support and advocacy work for AAPI women and girls. You can donate to them here: [ Ссылка ]
Another option is the AAPI Women Lead’s I’m Ready Movement, which is an organization looking at the intersections between race and gender and focusing on gender-based violence and human trafficking. You can donate to them here: [ Ссылка ]
If you can’t swing a donation right now, follow @StopAAPIHate on Twitter to help find other ways to support AAPI people facing horrific violence and relentless racism. Look for local organizations near you doing similar work. (We can help you find them!)
If you are able, sign up for @iHollaback’s free bystander intervention training and take an hour to learn how to intervene when you witness anti-Asian and AAPI racism and xenophobia. [ Ссылка ]
If you have other suggestions for orgs to support or actions to take, please share. If you’re AAPI or of Asian descent and struggling with today’s news, we’re here to listen if you need an ear, and we’re thinking of you.
