Despite the imminent arrival, very few details of the child or pregnancy have been released to the public. However, this hasn’t stopped the general public from speculating, as people have levelled bets on one particular name. Not only do the public believe Harry and Meghan will branch away from official royal names, but they may gravitate towards one name with particular emotional significance to the Duke of Sussex.  Meghan Markle and Prince Harry pick nursery colour for royal baby Why Meghan Harry's royal baby WON'T be a prince or princess  What will Meghan Markle and Prince Harry name their child? According to bookmakers Coral, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will name their child Diana, after Harry’s mother. Princess Diana died after a tragic car crash in Paris in 1998, when Harry was just 14 years old and William 16. The beloved ‘People’s Princess’ has left a hole in Harry and William’s life, and public punters believe this will result in him naming a daughter after her.  Odds the child will be named Diana have been slashed after a flurry of bets led the name above other competitors. Now, Diana is joint-favourite alongside traditional royal name Victoria, far beyond odds for other possible names. According to Coral, other names Albert, Alice and Philip are closest to Diana, but all at 12-1 odds. Coral also has odds of baby Sussex being a girl at 8-11.  Meghan Markle in danger of repeating big Royal Family scandal Meghan Markle to be ‘brought down by palace men in grey’  Interestingly, the firm has provided the same odds for Meghan giving birth to twins as the royal couple naming their child Diana, at 4-1. Coral spokesman Harry Aitkenhead said: “Excitement is really starting to build now ahead of the latest Royal arrival and the latest wave of bets on the name has been on Diana. “It's catapulted to the top of our betting is now the joint-favourite alongside Victoria and would certainly be an emotional and popular choice for both the family and Royal fans," said Coral's Harry Aitkenhead. "There seems to be a really strong feeling that Meghan will give birth to a baby girl for the newlyweds first child and we make it odds on that prophecy does ring true.”  According to royal protocol, Meghan and Harry’s first child will be an Earl or Lady. If the child is a boy, he will take Harry’s lesser title as a courtesy and become the Earl of Dumbarton. If the child is a girl they will be Lady (name) Mountbatten-Windsor, the Royal Family’s surname. This is because King George V issued a royal letters patent in December 1917 which restricted the HRH and Prince or Princess titles to children of the sovereign, and the eldest son of the Prince of Wales (currently Prince Charles).
