Paddle Beyond The Point is a culmination of a childhood dream of adventure and a love for Lake Superior. I had always wanted to paddle around the next bend or go on a paddling trip northward without any end date or location. I romanticized about pitching a tent on the beach wherever the day led me. Although it was a bit more planned, this video highlights such a paddling trip from the St. Marys River (downtown Sault Ste Marie) to the Michipicoten River. Over the 300 km, I tried to capture the perspectives of the people I spoke with and to get a better sense of how people view the lake.

All of the places I camped were accessible because they have been conserved for their environmental value. Without the support of conservation-minded people, this trip would not be possible.
