Recent rains have brought relief to farmers and residents in drought-stricken areas of the Little and Central Karoo in the Western and Eastern Cape. Between 20 and 70 millimetres of rain fell in the region.
The drought has devastated farming in the area, but authorities say it's unlikely the drought has been broken. But there is hope for recovery and a good summer season.
