With multiple sclerosis (MS) disproportionately affecting women of childbearing age, breastfeeding is a high-agenda topic among the research and healthcare professional community. With diagnosis and treatment now occurring earlier on in the disease course, and an ever-expanding number of disease modifying therapies (DMTs) becoming available, the debate is intensifying.
Scientific Session 20: Female Health at #MSmilan2023 will explore the intricate relationship between women's health and multiple sclerosis. Topics covered will include the lessons drawn from RCTs, registries, real-world experiences regarding pregnancy and breastfeeding, and a detailed exploration of disease activity throughout the stages of pre-conception, pregnancy, and postpartum in women with MS.
