How Did IG-88 Almost Kill Darth Vader? (Canon)
IG-88 was one of the most effective bounty hunters in the galaxy, second only to Boba Fett and maybe Cad Bane. Just after the events of the empire strikes back, many within the Empire were conspiring to destroy Vader. On the payroll of these conspirators, IG-88 hacked Vader's ship, which crash landed soon after. He then confronted the dark lord, firing his pulse canons right at him. Vader easily deflected these shots, with Vader warning the droid that he could easily destroy him. However, IG-88 had been given the codes to his suit and used a remote control to completely immobilise him. Just as IG-88 took aim at Vader's head, he used the force to take the remote from him, using it to take control of the IG-88 unit and blow the central processor out his head.
