Pontian Song "Τη Τρίχας το Γεφύριν" by Odysseas Konstantinopoulos performed by Marcin Kuźniar & Radosław Wieczorek
The culture of the Greeks of the Black Sea has historical traces of 2,500 years. Their dialect survives to this day as an echo of the ancient Greek language, while their customs, poetry, and melodies are deeply rooted in the folk traditions of Byzantium.
The Pontian Association of Nuremberg, the bearer of this rich cultural heritage, feels immense pride in the collaboration and honorary involvement of the distinguished musicians Radosław Wieczorek and Marcin Kuźniar with the music of the Greeks of the Black Sea Pontus.
The performance, by the two top guitarists, of arrangements of “Πυρρίχιος” and “Τη Τρίχας το Γεφύριν” by the Greek-Polish composer Odysseas Konstantinopoulos, represents a rare moment of collaboration between the noble cultural values of Greece and Poland.
The Association will always express its gratitude to Odysseas Konstantinopoulos for his selfless interest as a researcher of Pontian folk music, but even more so as an ambassador of their science...
