2024’s silly season has been the silliest we have seen in a long time. A driver of Carlos Sainz’s quality having to pick between a team with 0 points and one with 17 was the insanity that really kicked it off. Then Logan Sergeant somehow got a better mid-season send off than Daniel Ricciardo did. What we have ended up with is four confirmed rookies for 2025, probably a fifth coming, and somehow, a 6th one might be appointed. I’d actually completely forgotten that Jack Doohan was starting his career at Alpine next season until this week. Somehow, the madness that was also started by Lewis Hamitlon abandoning Mercedes mid contract for a move to Mercedes isn’t over, and today, I’ll tell you why.
