The 53rd annual Mexican Independence Day parade returns to Little Village on the first day of Hispanic Heritage Month.
Close to half a million are expected to attend the 26th street celebration.
The parade is a celebration of culture and experiences, spotlighting the diversity of Mexican Heritage in Chicago.
This year's theme is "Celebrando Nuestras Tradiciones."
There are also many other activities happening around the city.
The Mexican Patriotic Parade will kick off at 1 p.m. near 87th and Commercial Ave.
Plus, the two-day event of "El Grito" in Grant Park will continue today from 2 p.m. - 10 p.m.
The festival will have plenty of activities, food, and performances for kids and adults.
