Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi survived an assassination attempt early Sunday sparked by the refusal of Iran-backed militias to accept the results of last month’s parliamentary election. The attackers used armed drones to target his home in Baghdad’s heavily fortified Green Zone.
