On the return ride to Paul's truck we didn't stop very often because it was getting late in the afternoon and rapidly turning cooler, the extra moisture around the river perhaps contributing to the air temperature 'feeling' colder that the mid 40's temperature.
There weren't any places to catch a bite to eat along the trails so packing some sandwiches is strongly advised; we snacked on cheese crackers but that's only good for a few miles! I should point out that downtown Nashville has quite a number of restaurants but as I shared with Paul, I didn't feel comfortable with the notion of leaving our trikes out of sight. Yes, we did make it to a White Castle! Actually, we were within a few blocks of one downtown on Broadway that could easily be reached by cycling and another located near the J. Percy Priest Dam off Old Hickory Blvd at I-40 not to mention one on Dickerson Pike.
I forgot to extend thanks in the vider credits to the wonderful folks at the Shelby Bottoms Nature Center. The NASHVILLE TRAILS & GREENWAYS map we purchased from them is a 'must-have'. For further information contact them at: 1900 Davidson Street, Nashville, TN 37206 (615) 862-8539 or [ Ссылка ]
I believe they also rent bikes at the Nature Center.
