Spoon Phillips demos the Martin D-X1E Sitka welcome back, Spoon! In today's video, Spoon Phillips demonstrates the Martin guitar D-X1E Sitka. The X series by Martin Guitar features several models. The models with the number 1 in the name- like this D-X1E Sitka for example, are made from HPL back sides and top. HPL stands for high-pressure laminate and is highly resistant to humidity & temperature changes. This D-X1E is named "Sitka", referring to the Sitka stye HPL pattern on the top. Please note, it's not real Sitka Spruce. Those X series models with a "2" in the name pair HPL back & sides with a solid spruce top. But that's not the case here. The D-X1E Sitka comes equipped with Fishman electronics, so it's ready for the stage.
