In the production hall of the former textile factory, the two artists Gerda Maise and Helen von Burg embark on a project with an undetermined outcome. An exploration of their work in dialogue with the place, an artistic confrontation that is both introverted and outwardly directed. The progress of the action can be visited, accompanied and discussed during the construction from July 9 to August 13, 2023. Performances by Patricia Wespisser and Mirjam Spoolder.
Under Construction / FABRIKculture, Hégenheim (France), near Basel (Switzerland), July 9, 2023.

"For more than 40 years I have been transforming what already exists into something newly perceptible with minimal interventions. I temporarily give interior and exterior spaces a visible and perceptible different meaning and atmosphere. My intention is to create an environment that leads the viewer to question the work according to their expectations of what art is and how it should appear."
Helen von Burg (born 1959 in Fribourg), lives and works in Basel (Switzerland) and Hégenheim (France).
Graduate painter (Academy of Fine Arts Brera, Milano). By processing textiles in conjunction with painting, she explores the relationship of delimitation and dissolution of form, color, rhythm, two-dimensionality and space, making rhythms and colorful values present.
