Join us for a closer look at lamps and lanterns in the Ashmolean Museum's collection and make your own lantern to brighten up the dark evenings, with a simple craft activity. All ages welcome, but particularly good for 5 to 11 year olds and their grown-ups. This FREE event will be broadcast on our YouTube channel www.youtube.com/ashmoleanmuseum
There is no need to book.
Please have these ready for the lantern making:
- 2 sheets white paper (A4 printer paper or similar).
- Scissors
- Glue stick or craft glue
- Pencil
- Eraser
- Black or dark felt tip pen
- Few teaspoons of oil in a jar or bowl (any cooking oil will do)
- Paint brush
- Earbud
- Bike light or battery operated candle
This activity is not very messy but you may want to wear old clothes/apron and protect table with old newspaper or similar.
