Kashmir is experiencing one of its harshest winters in recent times. The Dal Lake and smaller water bodies have frozen over, with ice sheets up to 1.5 inches thick. Despite recent snowfall slightly improving night temperatures, the cold wave persists. A fresh western disturbance is expected to bring heavy snowfall on 4th and 5th January, potentially offering temporary relief from the freezing conditions.
