BORIS Johnson insisted the chances of leaving with a No Deal Brexit are a "million to one" as he promised an Australian-style immigration system if he gets to No10.
The Tory frontrunner was cheered and whooped by Tories tonight as he vowed to leave the EU by October 31st no matter what - as he answered questions from members and voters on Facebook and Twitter.
Boris told activists in central London that "politics has changed since March 29" and he was confident that MPs would vote to deliver what the British people voted for three years ago.
He vowed: "We are going to take this country out of the EU by October 31. That is what we are going to do.
"We are facing an existential threat.
"We all need to get this thing done and we need to move forward. I think [MPs] will want to get Brexit over the line on October 31 and move forward."
Elsewhere in the grilling this evening:
Boris vowed not to work with Nigel Farage to deliver Brexit, saying that the Tories needed to focus on their own politics
Distanced himself from shutting down Parliament to get Brexit through
Promised to back the police no matter what to get knife crime down across the country
The chances of not getting a deal and having to leave with nothing were incredibly slim, he said.
"I don't think that is where we are going to end up - I think it is a million-to-one against - but it is vital that we prepare," he said.
The next PM should be someone who "believed in the project of Brexit" he insisted in a jibe at his Remain-voting rival.
And he said it was "right to go for Australian-style points-based system so that the needs of the economy can be met" after we leave.
Boris' appearance was littered with 'likes' and 'hearts' from members of the public and Tories on Facebook tonight - and he was given far more applause than his rival Mr Hunt.
