Simple and Easy Steamed Buns
SIOPAO My Version
Ingredients:
Siopao Dough
* 1 ½ Cup lukewarm fresh whole milk (maligamgam)
* 1 Tbsp White sugar
* 2 Tsps Active dry yeast
Stand for about 10 minutes until foamy
* 3 ½ Cups Cake Flour
* 1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
* 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
* 3 Tablespoons Vegetable Shortening or cooking oil
For Chicken Filling
* 1kg Chicken Meat
* 6 Gloves Garlic
* 1/4 Cup Soy Sauce
* 1/4 Cup Oyster Sauce
* 10 Pcs Whole Black Pepper
* 1/2 Teaspoon Crack Black Pepper
* 4 Pcs Bay Leaves/Dahon ng Laurel
* 1 Chicken Cube
* 1 Cup of Water
* 1 Tablespoon Brown or White Sugar
* 3 Tablespoons Vinegar you can add more depeding on your taste.
* Salt to taste
* Hard boiled Eggs
* You can make your own Siopao filling.
* You can knead the dough by hands for about 7-8 minutes until become smooth and elastic.
* Water for Steaming+ 2 tbsp white vinegar.
* Parchment Paper
* Steamer
* Rolling Pin
Steam at medium-high heat for 15 -18 minutes
Serve warm & Enjoy
