This is a ebonised fruitwood, pewter ,mother of pearl and abalone inlaid sewing box, it dates to c.1860. The box has the original tray, we have professionally relined the bottom of box with hand marbled paper; and but kept the back of the quilted silk lid original and the silk tray. It has a key that isn’t working but for decoration. The box contains six mother of pearl sewing reels and a few sewing tools, it measures: 30 by 23cm and stands 13.5cm high.
