Yesterday afternoon, bang on time Mumbai Jabalpur Garib Rath Express with Mega Offlink Gonda (GD) WAG-7# 27088 enters and accelerates past Matunga very impressively followed by arrival of Mumbai Csmt bound Bombardier EMU. The Mighty Freight Beast took no time in accelerating to good speed with 18 coacher in barely 1.5kms. I have never seen any express train departing from Dadar and entering Matunga at such speed. Even strong passenger electric locomotives like WAP7 have failed to give such acceleration in such short time with 15-18 coach loads. I wonder how even more powerful freight locos like WAG9/WAG9H would accelerate.
