An upgraded version of the ARMA 6×6 armored vehicle, possibly configured for Estonian forces, has been spotted in Turkey.
The vehicle, produced by Otokar, shows noticeable design changes and modifications, reportedly tailored to meet Estonia’s requirements.
Ahmet Alemdar, a Turkish defense journalist, highlighted key changes in the vehicle’s design. “The structure of the headlight system is the first noticeable change,” Alemdar said, adding that other equipment adjustments have also been implemented. These modifications reflect Estonia’s demand for enhanced operational capabilities tailored to its specific defense needs.
In 2022, Estonia announced its plans to procure 230 armored vehicles from Turkish contractors in a deal valued at €200 million ($210 million). The acquisition includes two types of vehicles: the Otokar ARMA 6×6 armored personnel carriers and Nurol Makina’s NMS 4×4 armored vehicles, with equal numbers of each variant being ordered.
