This is a video outlining the support available for care leavers and estranged students studying at Cardiff University.
To be eligible for support you have to be eligible for undergraduate funding as a “home” student.
To be guaranteed accommodation in university residences as a first year student, certain conditions have to be met.

The terms and conditions of the Bursary are:
An applicant must be able to demonstrate that they have been in care for three months since the age of 16 or six months from the age of 14, and must have been in care in the last 10 years.
Or an estranged student must be able to demonstrate that they have been irreconcilably estranged from their parents or guardians between the age of 16 and leaving school or FE College and the estrangement occurred in the last 10 years. (This will be considered on a case by case basis).
