The study "Young People and Drivers and Barriers to Climate Adaptation Action" is a joint effort of the Global Center on Adaptation, Centre for Environment Education (CEE), Kai Analytics, and Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE).
The report surveyed more than 3,000 youth worldwide and conducted in-depth interviews with 19 young people across Africa and two in China, to better understand their perspectives and role in adaptation action. The report seeks to answer four questions:
1) What are the perceptions about climate impacts and successful adaptation methods?
2) What are the factors that contribute (or inhibit) youth engagement across various levels?
3) Are youth willing to make lifestyle changes for effective climate action?
4) How have extreme weather events impacted or led to engagement at local level?
