Distinguished professor and novelist Brenda Flanagan of Davidson College is currently visiting Prague and conducting research on the practice of samizdat, which was the dissident practice of reproducing banned publications, such as Vaclav Havel's The Power of the Powerless, by hand during the 1980s. She is also working on a book featuring the fiction of Czech surrealist, Eva Svankmajerova. In this video, Professor Flanagan discusses her current work, as well as the changes in the Czech Republic since the Communist times.
