Independent presidential hopeful Peter Solomon Gichira has been charged in court with attempted suicide. The offense was allegedly committed at the offices of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission - IEBC.

Gichira who never met the IEBC requirements to run for president, denied the charges. Steve Juma has more.
