About this clip: This scene is unique in the entire SATC narrative. It is for the first time that Mr. Big lets his guard down and John James Preston meets the three girls, acknowledging their relative superiority in Carrie's life. He verbalizes his inadequacies in his treatment of Carrie - rakishly jilting her with his push-pull Mr.Big gravitas, on and off. Besides, this scene is the only one in the Sex and The City series which is a "thriller". We are sitting on the edge of our seats, with bated breath, calculating the chances of Big being able to get Carrie back into the lives of the New York City girls and for us it would be a major bliss that we partake of their reunion thrill vicariously. We want the Russian spell to end and want Mr. Big's gravity to pull Carrie back to Manhattan, so that she can effectively put a closure to her Manhattan love story.
This is the second time in the SATC narrative that Samantha Jones pulls up Big; Only, this time Big's admission of guilt calms her severity. Charlotte's bringing up the topic of Big before the girls, now bodes increasingly well for all those who are TeamBig, as we all are, as opposed to TeamAleksandr, if there are any. Thanks be to god that no diatribe follows and Miranda Hobbes finally asserts with the Harvard conviction : "Go! Get our Girl".
