Country singer-songwriter John Rich talks about how he & rapper Nelly share a trailer on the set of reality TV show & music competition "The Next." Both smoke, yet Nelly smokes "clove" cigarettes.
Hip-hop artist Nelly's tour bus was routinely searched on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at a West Texas border checkpoint. Officers uncovered a loaded gun, heroin, & marijuana. The "Hot in Herre" rapper now contends that he was "not aware" that a staff member was in possession of the illegal stash.

"The Next: Fame Is At Your Doorstep" is an American reality TV series & music competition show on The CW network & hosted by Allison Hagendorf. "The Next" competitors are local music artists from Baltimore, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, New York City, & Orlando. Participant requirements include an established local fan base, strong social media presence via Facebook & Twitter, & desire to take their musical career to the next level. Four artists are selected from each city & are mentored for 72 hours by either Gloria Estefan, John Rich, Nelly, or Joe Jonas. The four participants then compete at a local venue & a winner is chosen to move onto "The Next" semi-final. "The Next" winner receives a recording contract with Atlantic Records.
