In 2013, Syria pledged to give up its chemical weapons stockpile. In 2014, the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) confirmed all the declared stocks had been destroyed. Since then, the Syrian government and rebels have repeatedly accused each other of using chlorine as a weapon.
