Forward left side facing views from the International Euro City Express train between Hamburg and Budapest on the Dresden to Decin leg of the journey. A significant part of this journey follows the River Elbe along the Elbe Valley and includes some stunning Winter scenery of the sandstone Sächsische Schweiz (Saxon Swiss) mountains and rock formations, as well as traditional rural towns and villages. The River Elbe itself flows from the Czech Republic into Saxony and onto Hamburg.
This footage includes the departure from Dresden Hauptbahnhof, the Dresden suburbs, lower Saxony including urban and (mainly) rural areas including locations such as Heidenau, Pirna, Konigstein and Bad Schandau. Footage also includes the North East Czech Republic countryside, mountains, woodland, forest, and urban areas heading towards Dečín. This train was hauled by a Czech class 371 electric locomotive.
Upon leaving Dresden if you listen carefully you can hear German Police officers checking the identities of people on the train.
