After reporting sexual abuse at the hands of his pastor, Mike Hendrix’s parents sent him to conversion therapy to excise his “homosexual spirits.” The abuse he experienced in those ensuing years threw Mike into a pattern of despair, resulting in PTSD, anxiety, and addiction. After his first consensual sexual encounter with a man, a moment of divine intervention, and a hilariously embarrassing incident at a bookstore, Mike eventually got the courage to face his demons head on and work on improving both his own life and the lives of others.
