Krista Tippet defines wholeness as, “an orientation towards reality, not perfection.” In Unity we understand that the nature of reality is good because Spirit is all that there is. This is our philosophy of non-dualism and Oneness. However, this does not mean that everything we experience in life is pleasing. Grief and loss, illness, loneliness—these are deeply human experiences, and universal. If we can find the capacity to be fully present in difficulty, we can begin the process of discovering a deeper meaning. We do not become less whole, or less of who we are because of loss and difficulty. More of our wholeness is revealed.
