In this case study, we explored how Queensland Children's Hospital, the largest children’s health facility in the state, collaborated with Commercial Building Inspectors to revolutionise high-rise building facade inspections.
The Queensland Children's Hospital chose Voltin to identify Composite Panel and Glazing Systems Defects.
Voltin utilised three different data collection methods to scan the facades. The primary method was the Voltin Autobat with support from the PoleBat and TetherBAT systems. The scan of the almost 20,000 mts façade was completed in two days.
The Voltin inspection detected a critical flaw in the building’s panel and glazing seals. Over 2500 meters of glazing seals were found to be defective. The defective seals were replaced, preventing chronic water leaks and further damage.
Voltin’s façade inspection and reporting process enables precise and cost-effective correction action of defects. This improves safety, maintenance planning and increases building lifespan.
