(6 Dec 2019) Indonesia and Australia held the sixth foreign and defence ministers' 2+2 meeting in Badung on Friday.
The meeting aimed at promoting bilateral cooperation in various fields and strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership that was announced in August 2018.
Maritime cooperation, counter-terrorism, peacekeeping forces, cyber technology, and disaster management and mitigation were also discussed.
Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, Indonesian Minister of Defence Prabowo Subianto, Australian Foreign Minister Marise Payne and Australian Defence Minister Linda Reynolds attended the event.
It followed Indonesian President Joko Widodo and Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison's recent meeting on the sidelines of the East Asia Summit in Bangkok.
The previous 2+2 meeting was held in Sydney in March 2018.
