Sydney residents will swelter through another day of scorching temperatures as a heatwave continues across NSW and sparking dozens of bushfires. While temperatures are slightly lower than yesterday, when Sydney saw its hottest March day in decades, the Bureau of Meteorology still forecast 34 degrees while parts of the west will rise to 36 degrees. Firefighters in the state's west continue battling an out-of-control blaze at Tambaroora, about 50km north of Bathurst, which is at a watch-and-act level. Dozens of other grass and bushfires are burning across the state at an advice level. RFS Deputy Commissioner Peter McKechnie joins Today the signs to look out if residents need to evacuate.
