The moving parts of the vehicle’s body are amongst the highest-stressed components of the vehicle. The frequent opening and closing of the tailgate, boot lid and bonnet contributes to this.
Uncontrolled forces promote premature wear within the gas spring - reducing their effectiveness to support and retain their strength, and/or becoming ‘stiff’ in operation.
febi gas springs have a hydropneumatic adjustment element consisting of a pressure tube, piston rod with a seal and guide system, and easy-to-install fixings. It is filled with nitrogen which, whilst under constant pressure, acts on the piston cross-sections of different sizes, creating a force in the extension direction. This force can be accurately specified through particular fill pressures for each application.
