Here's one back workout mistake you might be making when performing dumbbell rows, which are a great exercise to build back muscles. The mistake is pulling the dumbbell too high up toward your chest. This turns the db row into half biceps curl/half row and will make building a bigger back far more difficult for you. Instead, if you truly want to get a muscular back as efficiently as possible, row the dumbbell at an angle to your waist. Rowing higher up is fine, but if you're going to do that then use a wider grip and flare your elbow out. Try this tip on your next back day.
