As Activity Partner under the AF-Funded UNDP Coral Restoration Project (‘Restoring Marine Ecosystem Services by Rehabilitating Coral Reefs to Meet a Changing Climate Future’), Reef Conservation has successfully trained 45 members of the local communities in Coral Restoration Techniques, and in Snorkelling and Emergency-First-Response/First Aid.
Those local community members who are from coastal villages of the south-east region (i.e., Residence La Chaux, Pointe D’Esny, Mahebourg, Villenoire, Riviere des Creoles, Bois des Amourettes, Anse Jonchee, Grand Sable and Bambous Virieux) have eventually registered under the Coral Restoration Project as direct beneficiaries who will help support on-going activities under the project.
