STORYLINE:
New aerial pictures on Monday showed the extent of destruction in Jenin on the West Bank.
International press were taken by Israeli helicopter to view the devastation in the centre of the town.
The international community has been highly critical of Israel's destruction of West Bank towns, while Palestinians claim the Israeli forces carried out a massacre in Jenin - an accusation which Israel denies.
The UN has declared the Jenin refugee camp a disaster zone.
Israel pulled back its tanks from Jenin on Friday, redeploying its forces on the outskirts of the town and preventing Palestinians from entering or leaving.
The three-week West Bank operation began as a response to a series of Palestinian suicide bomb attacks.
