What is Economic Survey?

The Economic Survey of India, is a report which details and reviews the developments in Indian economy in the financial year that is coming to a close. It summarizes the performance on major development programs, and highlights the government policy initiatives. It also highlights the prospects of the economy in the short term to medium term.

The Economic Survey of 2022-23 highlights that India will witness a GDP growth of 6% to 6.8% in 2023-24. It also states that the economy is expected to grow at 7% for the year ending March 2023. It projects a baseline GDP growth of 6.5% in real terms in FY 24 and a headline inflation at 6.8% in FY 23.
