How to Set the Correct Air Pressure and Amperage for your Plasma Cutter. By matching the correct air pressure settings with the correct amperage settings for the material you are cutting, you are not only extending the life of your consumables, you are also saving money. You are using less electricity, your compressor is running less, your machine is running in the optimal zone and you are getting a better finish cut which equals less grinding and material prep.
