how to change your fuel pump in a 2007 to 2013 Chevrolet Silverado or GMC Sierra.
This factory fuel pump literally rusted off after over 260k miles of trouble free service.
step 1: park vehicle and turn it off. If you're able to try to do this with as little fuel in the tank as possible, You'll thank me later...
step 2: get your truck off the ground so you have room to work and.clearamce to remove the tank
step 3: put a jack or something under the tank so you can lift/lower it with ease
step 4: remove fuel filler neck, ground wire and differential vent line from box side filler location
step 5: disconnect fuel line and vent line from evap canister (both lines on top of eachother)
step 6: disconnect both electrical connectors on fuel pump
step 7: loosen 2 tank straps with a 15mm and lower tank to ground
step 8: wash/clean tank as best as possible to ensure no dirt gets into tank
step 9: twist retaining ring counter clockwise and remove, then remove old fuel pump.
step 10: reinstall new pump in tank with float arm carefully with new rubber o ring provided, reconnect electrical plugs, reattach fuel line connectors, bolt tank straps, reconnect filler hose, ground wire and differential vent and you are done my friend, you the weekend warrior have completed a diy fuel pump install
