Melbourne, Australia - arguably the most culturally diverse city in the world.

Melbourne Chinatown Association proudly organised the Chinese Lunar New Year 2024 to celebrate the Year of the Dragon, achieving record attendance of around 200,000 people and building on the success of last year's festival.

The festival takes place in Melbourne's Chinatown, the oldest, and longest continuous, Chinatown in the southern hemisphere. The Chinese community dates back to the 1850's in Victoria, and we were proud to bring this festival to life for the community.

As a volunteer-led, not-for-profit organisation, the Melbourne Chinatown Association promoted multiculturalism, cultural exchange, and celebrated the diverse heritage of Melbourne's Chinese and Asian communities. It was a pleasure to see so many people take interest in the culture and become friends with each other.
