Latvians on Saturday voted to sack their parliament in the Baltic country's first-ever referendum since its independence from the Soviet Union two decades ago.
Early results show 94.7 percent those who cast ballots backed the legislature's dismissal.
Electoral authorities said 45 percent of registered voters turned out.
A snap election will now be held in September.
Former president Valdis Zatlers triggered the referendum when he dissolved parliament in May.
His decision required the support of only a simple majority, regardless of the turnout.
