The sea trials of the Maritime Mine Countermeasures (MMCM) Programme were a success. This autumn, our engineers and sailors have been put to the ultimate exercise, across two countries and four operational scenarios, to test and prove the world’s first fully integrated unmanned mine countermeasures system for the Royal Navy and French Marine Nationale.
Tasked with detecting over 140 mines across miles of open sea in harsh conditions, from a portable operations centre, from the shore at two different locations. This system of system provides navies with a step change in capability.
