My most recent trip was watercolour focused as I was doing a workshop with the International Watercolour society in Mexico City. I say this because I knew for sure I would be spending a lot of time sketching unlike some holidays when you're with others who don't sketch. So I knew I could "get away" with packing maybe a bit more but I still needed to keep it light as I was doing carry on only. I checked beforehand whether it would be advisable to bring a stool or anything and the answer was you can leave that at home. It all worked out lovely.
So this is what I brought.

A lot of the supplies I used can be purchased at Jackson's (except they don't have the 100% cotton sketchbook but the cheaper version). I get a little help out with this channel if you were to purchase from this link.
