Khachapuri is a georgian dish ,It’s a
dish of cheese-filled bread.
Khachapuri shaped in various ways but the most common one is the boat shape. Usually with cheese in the middle and a crust which is ripped off and used to dip in the cheese.
Here’s the ingredients for Easy Homemade Khachapuri
Dough Ingredients
INGREDIENTS
1 1/2 cups warm water (110 degrees F)
2 teaspoons sugar
2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast or instant yeast
3 1/2 to 4 cups bread flour
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 teaspoon teaspoons salt
Cheese Filling
1 cup Feta cheese
1cup butter
2 cups mozzarella cheese
We also Egg to drop on top of khachapuri and brush the dough of some egg or butter
Instructions:
Make the Dough first
* Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast in a large bowl. If using active dry yeast, let it proof for 5 minutes until foamy. If using instant yeast, there is no need to wait for the yeast to proof.
* Add flour, olive oil, and salt and stir well with a wooden spoon
*Knead for 10 minutes using hand until smooth and elastic. Make a ball of dough and place back to the bowl. Sprinkle some flour on top and cover it. Let it rest for 1hour
* While the dough is resting, mAke cheese filling. Combine Feta Cheese, butter and mozzarella cheese in a bowl.
*Once the dough is double the size, place it in a flouredsurface and knead for 5mins. Roll and stretch the dough.
* Once you flatted the dough place it in a parchment paper and start putting the cheese filling.
*Roll the side of the dough and twist the end, ( shape
Like a boat) Brush some butter and add extra
Mozzarella cheese on top
*Preheat oven for 5mins and bake the khachapuri at 350 degree Fahrenheit or 178 Celcius for 10-15mins
*After 15mins, pull our the khachapuri from oven make a well in the middle and drop 1 egg in the center.
*To achieve a gold brown crust, put the khachapuri back to oven grilled for 3-5mins . And serve!
